From the workshop on Energy and Chakra’s this morning, this is the Chakra Mediation I used – albeit shortened in class – and the one I use myself in my own practice.

I use Insight Timer app, iOS/android, with a 18 minute timer and 2 minute intervals – that’s 9 two minute segments

  1. Come to sit comfortably. Start by breathing up and down the spine and sensing the body
  2. Come to Mulhadra in the perineum.  Take breath and awareness there.  Notice the colour Red.  Maybe be aware of the energy of Mulhadra, Surviving.   Maybe use the seed mantra Lam
  3. Come to Swadhistana in the sacrum.  Take breath and awareness there.  Notice the colour Orange.  Maybe be aware of the energy of Swadhistana, Being.   Maybe use the seed mantra Vam
  4. Come to Manipura in the navel.  Take breath and awareness there.  Notice the colour Yellow.  Maybe be aware of the energy of Manipura, Doing.   Maybe use the seed mantra Ram
  5. Come to Anahata in the heart space.  Take breath and awareness there.  Notice the colour Green.  Maybe be aware of the energy of Anahata, Loving.   Maybe use the seed mantra Yam
  6. Come to Vishuddhi in the throat.  Take breath and awareness there.  Notice the colour Blue.  Maybe be aware of the energy of Vishuddhi, Communicating.   Maybe use the seed mantra Ham
  7. Come to Ajna in the third eye.  Take breath and awareness there.  Notice the colour Indigo.  Maybe be aware of the energy of Ajna, Thinking.   Maybe use the seed mantra Om
  8. Come to Sahasrara just above the crown of the head.  Take breath and awareness there.  Notice the colour Violet.  Maybe be aware of the energy of Sahasrara, Realising.   Maybe use the seed mantra Om
  9. Again come to breath up and down the spine, noticing each Chakra, a sense of breathing up and down the central column Sushumna
